National Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week:
Email Message (PLEASE FORWARD)

Subject: National Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week

The first full week of April every year (this year it's April 2-6, 2012) has been set aside as a time to recognize the contributions and importance of graduate students in the US. We celebrate and honor the Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, graduate association leaders and all students pursuing graduate and professional degrees. We appreciate your vital contribution to this university.

We recognize that your sphere of influence will continue to widen as you become our nation's future business, political, scientific and intellectual leaders. We want to make sure you have all the support you need to succeed. For some students, the path to completing a graduate degree can sometimes be more difficult than expected and the pressure of personal and academic responsibilities too much to handle.

This week we send a message to all graduate students that help is available. The counselors at the National Graduate Student Crisis Line (800-GRAD-HLP), along with local campus mental health professionals, understand the pressures. Reach out. Talk to someone. Seek out a local graduate student community on your campus. Don't wait until a crisis arrives to call the National Grad Crisis Line. They are available 24/7 to listen, connect and assist you today!
